Dartrak ("the app", "we", "us") is a darts scoring and training application. This policy explains what data the app handles, where it is stored, who can see it, and your rights.
Our guiding principle is local-first: Dartrak works offline and keeps your games on your device. Data leaves your phone only in these cases:
- you sign in with Google to use the account, friends or cloud sync (§5);
- you open the Dartrak Pro screen, buy or restore Pro: the app contacts Google Play and RevenueCat to show the price and check the purchase; if you own Pro, it re-checks your purchase at launch (§6);
- you tick "Help improve the camera" and are signed in: the camera's reading rate of your games is sent to us (§2);
- you use voice entry: your phone's speech recognition may use Google's speech service, depending on its settings (§3);
- your phone's Android backup is on: it may include the app's database (§7);
- you export or share a file or an image yourself (§8).
We do not use any analytics, tracking, advertising or crash-reporting service. The only measurement that can reach us, the camera's reading rate, is sent only if you tick "Help improve the camera" yourself (§2). We do not sell, rent or share your data with third parties for marketing.
1. What stays on your device
Without an account, Dartrak runs entirely on your device:
- game data (players and their names, avatars, games, visits, statistics, drills, goals) is stored locally in a SQLite database;
- settings (language, display, sound, reminders) and, if you use the camera, its calibrations, precision counters, reading history (how many darts it read in each game) and the start date of its trial are stored locally;
- no internet connection is needed to play.
In this mode we receive nothing: no data ever reaches us.
2. Camera — camera scoring (Dartrak Pro, feature in test, Android)
Camera scoring films the board during the game to read your darts.
- Frames are analysed on the device, in memory, by a model bundled with the app. No image is sent or saved: only the scores it reads enter your game.
- Camera permission is requested only the first time you start the camera in a game or a drill (📷 button).
- Without Dartrak Pro, the camera is free for 3 days from its first use, with nothing to accept. The trial's start date and the number of games played with the camera stay on the device.
- Internal test builds (handed to testers, outside Google Play) may save diagnostic images on the device, in the app's private storage. They are never sent automatically.
Help improve the camera (optional, off by default)
- If you tick this box (Settings → Features in testing) and are signed in, the app sends, for each game played with the camera: the number of darts the camera read, the number of darts typed or struck off, the game mode, the date, and the versions of the detection model and of the app. No image, no score, no player name.
- This data is tied to your account and hosted by Supabase (§5). It is used only to measure and improve the camera's accuracy (by model, version, mode and player). We look at it as statistics.
- Unticking the box deletes the data sent (at your next sign-in if you are no longer signed in). Deleting the account deletes it too.
3. Microphone and voice entry (Dartrak Pro, feature in test)
Voice entry uses the microphone and your system's speech recognition to transcribe spoken scores (e.g. "treble twenty").
- Dartrak does not record, store or transmit your voice: the app only receives the recognised text. The microphone only listens during the game while the feature is on; its permission is requested on first use.
- On Android, recognition is done by the phone's speech service, usually Google's. Depending on your settings and connection, it processes the audio on the device or sends it to Google to transcribe it. This step is governed by Google's (or the phone maker's) privacy policy, not Dartrak's.
- For offline transcription, install your language's offline speech recognition pack in the phone's settings.
4. Local notifications (optional)
If you turn reminders on, Dartrak schedules local notifications (a daily reminder and an occasional backup reminder). They are scheduled on the device and rescheduled after a reboot: no push token, no network activity. Permission is only requested when you turn reminders on.
5. Google account, friends and cloud sync (optional)
You can sign in with Google. Until you do, the cloud layer stays inert (no request).
Data processed while you are signed in
- Account: your account identifier, your email address, your Google name and profile photo (you can replace the name with a nickname in the app), your level and your dart type.
- Friends: the friend requests and friendships you create or accept.
- Synced games (with Dartrak Pro): your games, visits, scores and statistics, with the names of the players in those games, including the guests you type in.
- Camera reading (only if you ticked "Help improve the camera"): see §2.
Who can see what
- Your friends (accepted friendship) see your display name, photo, level and dart type — never your email address.
- Players of a game: when a synced game includes a player linked to their account (a friend), that player can view the game from their own account (players, visits, scores). Likewise, you see the games where a friend linked you.
- Friend search: a signed-in user who types your exact email address can find your profile. They then see your display name and photo, and learn that this address has a Dartrak account. The stored email is always your Google account's: it cannot be changed to impersonate yours.
- Nobody else: the rest of your data is isolated per user (row-level security, RLS).
Sign-in tokens are kept in the system's secure storage (Keystore on Android).
Hosting
Account and sync data are hosted by Supabase, our processor, in the European Union (Frankfurt region, eu-central-1). Supabase's data processing agreement (DPA), which incorporates the European Union's standard contractual clauses, is part of its terms of service.
6. Purchases — Dartrak Pro
Dartrak Pro is a one-time purchase made in the app.
- Payment is processed by Google Play, under its terms and privacy policy. We never receive your payment details; Google passes us the order information (number, date, country, amount).
- RevenueCat, Inc. (United States), our processor, verifies and restores your purchases. It receives an anonymous purchase identifier generated by the app, your purchase history (product, date, Google Play purchase token) and the technical information it needs (platform, app version, store country). It receives neither your email, nor your name, nor your games.
- The transfer to the United States relies on the European Union's standard contractual clauses, incorporated in RevenueCat's data processing agreement (DPA), which is part of its terms of service.
- Before payment, the Dartrak Pro screen asks you to tick a box: you ask for Dartrak Pro to be provided immediately and acknowledge that you thereby waive your right of withdrawal (terms of use, §13.4). This choice is neither recorded nor sent; the proof of the purchase is the Google Play order.
7. Android backup
Android's automatic backup is turned on for Dartrak. If Google backup is on for your phone, the app's local database may be included in your Google account's backup, then restored when you reinstall the app or set up a new phone. It holds in particular your players and their names, your games, throws and statistics, your settings, the camera's calibrations and counters, the Dartrak Pro status and, if you are signed in, your account's email address and photo.
It does not hold your sign-in tokens (you will have to sign in again after a restore), RevenueCat's identifiers or the camera's diagnostic files. Google manages this backup, under your phone's settings and Google's privacy policy: we have no access to it. You can turn it off in the Android settings (usually Settings → Google → Backup) or delete the existing backup from your Google account.
8. Export and sharing
You can export your data (JSON file, CSV spreadsheet) or share an image from the app, through the phone's share sheet. Where it goes is your choice.
9. Your rights (GDPR)
- Local data: you control it directly. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data deletes everything it stores on the device.
- Portability: the app's export (Settings → Data) hands you your games.
- Account deletion: in the app (Settings → Account & sync → Delete my account) or from the page https://pixware.app/dartrak/delete-account.en.html. Your account, profile, friendships and synced games are deleted from the cloud; local data stays on your phone. Games your friends saved in their own account belong to them. Deleting the account neither refunds nor cancels the Dartrak Pro purchase, which is tied to your Google Play account.
- Other rights: access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection. To exercise them (including erasing purchase data held by RevenueCat), write to us (§12). You may also lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL (www.cnil.fr), or your local authority.
- Legal basis: performance of the service you ask for (account, sync, purchase), our legal obligations for purchases and, for "Help improve the camera", your consent, which you withdraw by unticking the box.
10. Children
Dartrak does not knowingly collect personal data from children. It contains no ads and no tracking. Dartrak Pro is bought through Google Play, whose parental controls can require approval for every purchase.
11. Retention
- Local data: on your device until you delete it.
- Account data and synced games: while the account exists; deleted when you delete the account. The host's automatic technical backups may keep a copy for a few days; they are erased automatically, 30 days after the deletion at the latest.
- Camera reading: until you untick "Help improve the camera" or delete the account.
- Purchases: kept by Google and RevenueCat as long as needed to manage your purchases and meet their legal obligations, under their own policies.

13. Changes
We will update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be flagged by the "Last updated" date and, where relevant, in the app.
Dartrak contains no advertising and no tracking. The game core is free; Dartrak Pro is an optional one-time purchase.
